Cacaosito Heart of the earth

This song... as I was communing with my cacao, I set my intention to open my heart—to allow my heart to talk to my mind and open my ears to listen. As I drank my cacao, slightly bitter, I took a moment of silence.

I started to play my guitar and found a melody within the chords. Images began to appear and words started to flow; a song was being sung through me as I became a hollow bone for the spirit of cacao to move through.

I saw a seed sprout from inside the womb of the Earth. The rain falling from the sky brought life to the seed, which then started sprouting upward, possessing the willpower to reach the surface to receive the warmth and light of the sun. The sunlight gave it consciousness and the spirit of air.

A sacred tree grew at the top of the mountain, and that mountain held the heart of the Earth. Our ancestors' prayers were answered when they asked for the medicine of the heart. This medicine connects with all four corners of the earth; it illuminates people’s hearts. "Take care of it," Great Spirit told the people. "This medicine will teach you values, kindness, and ceremony."

And that is how this song came through.
